Annie Lee Watson Pulliam , daughter of the late James and Ola Watts Watson, was born April 15, 1940 in Mecklenburg County, VA. Annie departed this earthly life on Monday, September 2, 2024 at her residence. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Tony Watson and two sisters-in-law, Joyce and Nannie Watson.
At an early age, she was baptized and joined Mt. Mitchell Baptist Church, Drakes Branch, VA. She attended the Lunenburg County Public Schools. Annie was married to the late Fred Pulliam and to this union seven children were born. Annie adored spending time with her kids and family. She also loved going fishing and cooking specially making her famous corn pudding.
Annie leaves to cherish her memory: her seven children, Barbara (Ken) Williams, of Charlotte Court House, VA; Clara (Thomas) Brogdon, of Chase City, VA; Estelle (John) Bracey, of LaCrosse, VA; Daniel (Tracey) Pulliam, of Weldon, NC; Laura (Bryan) Harris, of Saxe, VA; Patricia (Dwayne) Harris, of South Hill, VA; and Charleen WIlson, of Chase City, VA; four brothers, James "Junnie Bug" Watson, Jr. of Fort Mitchell, VA; Frank Watson, Edward Watson, and Charlie (Dora) Watson, all of Chase City, VA; seven sisters, Charlotte Bowman, of Saxe, VA; Carrie Gregory, Arlene Boyd, and Bobby Jean Henry, all of Chase City, VA; Juanita Faines, of Farmville, VA; Betty and Patricia Watson, of Victoria, VA; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 2 great great-grandchildren; numerous step-grandchildren; devoted phone friends, Carrie Gregory, Barbara Oliver and Frances Davis.
Funeral Service for Mrs. Annie Watson Pulliam will be held on Saturday, September 7, 2024 at 12 Noon at Mt. Mitchell Baptist Church, 475 Mt. Mitchell Road, Drakes Branch, VA. The remains will lie in state one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Public viewing will begin on Friday, September 6, 2024 from 4:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M.
Final care and professional services entrusted to the Smithson Brothers Mortuary, Chase City, VA.
