Mr. Lawrence E. Baskerville , age 76, of Chase City, VA departed this earthly life on Friday, April 14, 2023 at Chase City Health & Rehab Center.

Lawrence Eric Baskerville also known as "Bear," the son of the late Fannie Ardelle Foster and George Wesley Baskerville was born on December 8, 1946 in Mecklenburg County Virginia. Lawrence received his education in the Mecklenburg County School System and went to work for Virginia Homes Manufacturers for over 50 year of employment. Even though his health started failing him he always kept a smile on his face and a smart joking comment coming out of his mouth. Lawrence was preceded in death by his son Antonio Stewart, brothers Charlie Evans, George Baskerville, William Evans, Carol Evans, and Carnell Evans. Son-in-law Steven Harris and sister in-laws Arvella Evans. Francine B. Evans, and Florine Evans. Lawrence was joined in Holy Matrimony to Annie Lee Howell and they were blessed with two children.

Lawrence leaves to cherish his memories to his wife, Annie Lee Baskerville of Boydton, Virginia, daughter, Caroline Harris of Boydton, Virginia, daughter, Melinda Baskerville of Northern Virginia. Six grandchildren, Franklin Alexander Jr., Komiko Alexander, Graig Davis, Deliandre Alexander, Fu'Quan Davis, and Tre'Sjor Hill. Twenty-Six great grandchildren. Five brother-in-laws, Walter Evans Jr, Wendell Richardson, Freddie Evans, David Evans, and Clinton Evans. Five sister-in-laws, Rosa Evans, Virginia Baskerville, Yvonne Payne, Zeta Evans, and Gracie Richardson. A cousin-in-law that was more like a brother Samuel Howell and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

A Celebration of Life service for Mr. Lawrence E. Baskerville will be held on Wednesday, April 26, 2023 at 12:00 Noon at Smithson Brothers Mortuary, 31397 Highway 49 North, Chase City, VA. Public viewing will begin on Tuesday, April 25, 2023 from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.
