Donte’ C. Smithson

Donte’ Carnell Smithson, is a third generation funeral director and embalmer. He is a native of Charlotte County and a 2013 graduate of Randolph-Henry High School. He graduated from Southside Virginia Community College (SVCC) in 2016 with a Associates degree in Business Administration. Donte’ started his Funeral Service career with the Wilson Funeral Home in Keysville, VA under the direction of Jeffrey Wilson. He then became a student at John Tyler Community College (JTCC). In 2019, he graduated with his Associates degree in Funeral Services.
To further his career in Funeral Service, Donte’ became an Funeral Service Intern at the Carl U. Eggleston Funeral Establishment of Farmville, VA and the Oliver & Eggleston Funeral Establishment of Crewe, VA under the supervision and guidance of Dr. Carl U. Eggleston. During the course of his internship, he passed the Funeral Service Arts and Funeral Service Sciences National Board Exam on March 12, 2022. He successfully completed the Funeral Service Internship Program on April 11, 2022. He passed the Virginia Laws, Rules & Regulations (LRR) Exam on June 21, 2022. On June 24, 2022, Donte’ Carnell Smithson had fulfilled the requirements of the Code of Virginia and the Board of Funeral Directors and Embalmers Department of Health Professions and is authorized to practice as a Funeral Service Licensee in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
He is an active member of the local district Southside Funeral Directors Association and a state member of The Virginia Morticians Association Incorporated. In his spare time, Donte’ enjoys serving the Mecklenburg County, Charlotte County and Prince Edward County School Systems as a School Bus Driver.
